Lourdas Kefalonia

Lourdas lies on the south coast of Kefalonia and is a small village that over the last few years has expanded due to tourism. The village is self is quite pleasant and consists of a small supermarket, bar, a couple of gift shops and 2 tavernas. In the center of the village is a large Plane tree under which is spring giving crystal clear fresh water.

The resort part of the village is well spread out and has about 18 - 20 tavernas more bars and gift shops. The beach is massive and consists of shingle and sand. Getting into the sea is steep as in the shingle suddenly drops and can be quite a task getting out when the sea is choppy.

The village of Lourdas is built on a hill which is quite steep and the road leading to the beach from the village although a short walk is a killer walking back up, it is very steep.

The village does not have a bus service and the nearest bus route is in the next village at the top of the hill, Vlahata.

Please be aware their is a naturist beach at Lourdas off the main beach. If you face the sea it is to the right through the rocks.
