Lixouri is the second largest resort on Kefalonia

and situated on the Paliki Peninsula. It is not the most popular of the Island resorts but is well worth a visit. It has excellent views across the bay of Argostoli the Islands main town. You can travel to Argostoli by ferry from Lixouri.

Lixouri has nearby Lepeda beach which is very attractive and an excellent place to cool off.

Lixouri has numerous churches which includes the Church of Panagia ton Perligadon, there a festival 1st to 15th August. When three rockets are fired outside the church every night until the 15th when they have fireworks and feasting.

There is also the Tipaldon Mansion which was one of the few buildings that survived the earthquake, today it is Lixouri's public museum and library.
