Assos probably the most beautiful and unspoilt village on Kefalonia. It has a small beach and quay. The village is accessed via a long winding road but well worth it. Around the quay you will find a few small tavernas providing excellent quality Greek food.

Assos also has a Venetian castle on the rock outcrop dating back to the 1500's and was once the capital of the Island. The castle is accessible via a long uphill walk and is today just a ruin although well worth the trek just for the views.
