going to Lourdas in July,first time to Kefalonia,,
any places to avoid ,probably not,but thought i would ask,,,
quite like boat trips,were they do a bbq, just a chill out really,and not tooooo many on the boat,
anyone know of any trips,,,,,
bit quiet on the site,,so,,

Hi welcome to the forums.

No boat hire in Lourdas that I know of.
Most travel companies run BBQ sea trips and not too many people go.
If you rent a car there are resorts near that you can rent your own small boat.

Lourdas is certainly a chill out place.
Trips an Island trip is a must. Also Ithica is an excellent trip but its a long day.

Trips use someone like Panem not your holiday company, a lot cheaper.

Our first trip to Kefalonia 20 years ago was to Lourdas, first trip without the kids, best holiday ever.

Kefalonia is slightly dearer than most places in Greece we have found, but not that much dearer.

Meals on average are between 9 and 14 euros depending what you get.

Mythos 2.5 to 3.5 euros depending on the sort of bar you are in, white wine 2 euros per glass on average. Cocktails around 5 euros.

2 sunbeds and a brolly on the beach average around 5 euro. May be cheaper in Lourdas, Lourdas has an excellent beach.

Scooter hire I never rented one so do not know.

We do have a few members who are Kefalonia residents and a moderator from Kefalonia so you may get an answer from them regarding scooter hire.

Hi, we go to Ag Efimia, and i have to say we found it much cheaper there than in Corfu and Crete and Rhodes. the drinks are about the same everwhere you go in Greece, funnily enough i have just found receipts of a trip 9 years ago to Crete and the drinks were the same price as a beer was 3 euros and a coke about 1 50 to 250 euros, Aghia Efimia is a small Quiet place where you can hire a boat and stop in small places to have a picnic or a BBQ. Meals in Aghia Efimia range from 7 euros upwards,but be careful where you go and what time as we went just as the tour boats had arrived and were given dearer prices than their normal menu in one place, they were suprised when i pointed this out, as i told them, i can read Greek and i can read your bill !!! and i read your menu yesterday it was cheaper, turns out they have the same food but different prices for when the tour buses and boats come in, hire a car and got to Assos and Fiskardo they are very beautiful. have a great time whatever you decide to do .

How long{far} is the transfer from airport to Lourdas??
we normally take sterling cash with us on holiday,is there anywhere in
Lourdas that will exchange it?
there are normally a couple of hotels that will do this in resorts,don,t know about Lourdas tho,,

These days due to new route around 40 mins transfer.
Should be car hire shop now that does exchange. Or even gift shops.

Be aware when you go down to the beach via the main road it is very steep going back up.
Also whan you get to the beach look to your right you will see some rocks in the distance.

Its a Nudist area.
